The Prophet of Allah (s) said, “A man or a woman acts in obedience to Allah for sixty years, then when they are about to die they cause wrongs in their Will of inheritance, so Hell becomes Mandatory.”
Salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatu,
The subject of Will and Inheritance is one that is governed by fixed laws in Islam that should not be violated. Due to lack of knowledge or seriousness, many people make mistakes which result in distributions that violate the commandments of Allah (swt).
There will be a lecture to discuss some essential elements of will and inheritance. It will cover various topics, including:
- Why it is important to have a will
- Essential parts of a valid will
- How much can one give out in a bequest
- Whom can one not make a bequest to
- What can one do to ensure his body (after death) will be handled and buried properly
- Prohibited forms of inheritance
- Joint properties
- Identifying the properties that need to be distributed
- How should the properties be distributed and in what order.
- Who gets how much share
- Importance of being just in distributing property
- Consequence of not following Allah’s commandments in matters of inheritance
Who should attend
- All adult Male and Females (single or married)
- Teenagers should also attend.
