Please support our efforts to bring unity to our community by attending our annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 20 at 2pm at the Islamic Center, 4125 Solomons Island Road, Prince Frederick, MD. The 2016 service will feature prayers and songs from our various religious traditions, a tour of the mosque, and refreshments. Daughters, please bring a dessert to share. The Islamic Center will provide the main dishes. The Calvert Interfaith Council, Islamic Center of So MD, and Daughters of Abraham of So MD are hosting this event. I look forward to seeing you there!
You are also invited to the Jewish synagogue in Waldorf, Sha’are Shalom, 18 Henry Ford Circle, Waldorf, MD 20602 to hear a guest speaker/survivor of the Kristallnacht on Sunday, November 13 at 3 pm. On November 9 to November 10, 1938, in an incident known as “Kristallnacht”, Nazis in Germany torched synagogues, vandalized Jewish homes, schools and businesses and killed close to 100 Jews. It was an event before the onset of World War II and the Holocaust.
