This project is not only important to Lily but to the Muslim community as well. It is necessary for us to share in our experiences in regards to how 9/11 shaped or reshaped our American lives. We all were affected by that day and what followed. I know some of us in this community experienced some terrible backlash because of our religion or because sisters were wearing hijab. These stories and experiences will help in the research that Lily is doing for her religious studies program.
