Assalamu alaikum, As we grow as a community it becomes more important that we pay better attention to the needy in our community.
ICLP received many request for financial assistance over the past year. Mostly from people well outside of our community but also from a few right here in Southern Maryland. We strive to use the community Zakat and Sadaqah money wisely but we feel that we fall short sometimes with verifying the authenticity of those making the request.
In order to better cope with the increase in requests and to remain within legal bounds, we will now require a Financial Assistance form be filled out by anyone requesting financial help from ICLP. This form and the data we are going to collect from it will help ICLP make better decision and keep proper track of where the community funds are going with regards to the needy.
